The Army of the Month Project

Tired of having stacks of boxes and sprues and looking like a hoarder, I have taken it upon myself to do something about it. Call it a crazy new year resolution, call it a daunting challenge, but much like Asterix, I must conquer these 12 tasks and be done with endless boxes of uncompleted stuff.

Read on for the whole details.

[Video] Painting Skin and Tattoo

Painting human skin in a realistic way is one of the hardest thing to do in miniature painting. This is mostly due to the fact that most beginner techniques are not suited for this. There is also a gazilion colors dubbed as «  flesh » and picking the right one(s) can get tricky.

As if skin was not hard enough, adding realistic tattoos can make even the bravest of us cry. But fear not, for I bring you today a video detailing a simple method of doing skin and incorporating tattoos.

And if that wasn't enough, below is all that you want to know that couldn't be covered in a 10 minutes video.

[Video] Painting Scrolls, Seals and Books

Scrolls, seals and books are everywhere on our miniatures; spellbooks and scrolls of powerful wizards, purity seals on space marines or the various prophecies of fanatics and zealots. The problem with this is that you could fill pages upon pages of ways to paint them. Get it? Pages...Scrolls... Please don't kick me off the internet...

So what's a wargamer to do?

The video showcases two standard ways to do scrolls, using desert brown and bone tones to get the worn look in no time.  If you're looking for something different or to master your technique, read on!

Bloodthirster of Insane Rage

Or whatever his official tittle may be.

Finally got around to painting a base for this guy after it's been sitting on a shelf for months ( Actually, since Alan Pajamapnats won a GT with an odd list playing this guy ).  Got a sweet skull themed base from secret weapon thats fits nicely with it.

And he's found a home!  I was planning on e-baying it, but talking with friends, the little rascal found a new home in less than 20 minutes!
