Meta your Maker Part 2

I got a lot of great feedback from my article last week about playing this weird game with miniatures, so I’m at it again, with some closing thoughts on the same subject.  You should read it now, I’llwait here until you’re done.

ND Open Primer

It's this time of the year again where I attend an event - first of 2015 - and attempt to elaborate some sort of plan of action.  Well here it is:

Demo Table

The store has this Demo Table that's been up since the Battle of Maccrage box set came out ( as the terrain points out )

As you can see, it was in a pretty bad shape ( It's 10 years of gaming crammed in a 3/3 table. )  So I figured I'd give it some overhaul.  It took 2-3 hours, with some breaks because custommers/poop/scratching my head wondering what to do next.  Nothing too fancy, but it's sturdy and striking.  Now I'm working on the models to go on it...

Little update for y'all, as I will probably be radio silent for the next few weeks, as work is overwhelming and both the ND Open and Adepticon are right around the corner with much left to do still.

Nontheless, the 2nd part of the Meta your Maker article is underway and should hit the interwebz thursday.

Also, I will have a decent NDOpen Primer up soon, as I have just read the one I wrote prior to last year's and I'm eager to go again!

I will also do the same with Adepticon.

Also, I'm selling a bunch of models that are collecting dust here and would be much happier in your army.  Have a look ( These will be updated infrequently as I'm still sorting what to keep and what to sell )

Lights Camera Action!

Following my own advice, instead of buying more minis to put on a shelf because I never paint my own stuff, I used my hard earned dollars to buy lamps and try to get decent pictures of the miniatures I paint.  I also bought a new desk lamp because as the days go by and the deadlines creep evercloser, I need to get a good night time painting setup.  I’ll sleep when I’m dead.

The Primarch Grand Slam

Faithful readers and longtime followers might remember this lovely bunch of pimps.

Last week, my buddy Eric brought all 8 of the primarchs ( well the released one anyway ) at the store and we held this tournament to figure out where each one stood in a one on one fight.

Obviously this is by no means scientific, as we took the primarch straight out of the book, and pitted them in close combat with 1 round of shooting from each.  We rolled the pairings for the 1^st round.

Meta Your Maker!

The Kwalifier

Last Saturday, the store held a qualifier for the ND Open( Quebec biggest tournament).  Basically, an  X round tournament where the winner gets a free invite to the Northern Defenders Open.  I was running the event, so I didn’t get to smack people with my army ( or... you know...get curb stomped and cry )  but I found I had an interesting time observing the 2 top player’s strategy.  Read on!
